When I need a dinner that feels hearty and homemade without demanding much from me on a busy weekday, this 5-ingredient slow cooker pork sirloin roast is one of my favorite answers. A raw pork sirloin roast goes straight into the slow cooker with a few pantry staples, and hours later it turns into a tender, flavorful main dish that tastes like you worked way harder than you actually did. It is the kind of simple roast recipe that fits right into family dinners, meal prep, or those days when you just want the house to smell amazing by dinnertime.
This roast is especially good with mashed potatoes, buttered egg noodles, rice, or roasted vegetables to soak up the savory juices. If you want to keep things easy, add a side salad or some steamed green beans and dinner is done. Leftovers also make great sandwiches or can be tucked into warm rolls with a spoonful of the cooking juices.
5-Ingredient Slow Cooker Pork Sirloin Roast
Servings: 6
Ingredients
1 pork sirloin roast, about 2 1/2 to 3 pounds
Directions
1. Place the raw pork sirloin roast in the bottom of your slow cooker.
2. Sprinkle the dry onion soup mix evenly over the roast, then pour the chicken broth and Worcestershire sauce around and over the pork.
3. Cover and cook on low for 6 to 8 hours or on high for 4 to 5 hours, until the pork is very tender and easily slices or shreds with a fork.
4. Transfer the roast to a plate or cutting board and keep warm. Whisk the cornstarch with 2 tablespoons of cold water in a small bowl, then stir it into the liquid in the slow cooker. Cover and cook on high for 10 to 15 minutes, until the gravy thickens.
5. Slice or shred the pork and serve with the warm gravy spooned over the top.
Variations & Tips
Add garlic: If you want a little more savory depth, add 2 to 3 minced garlic cloves to the slow cooker before cooking. It gives the roast an extra homemade flavor without making the recipe complicated.
Make it richer: For a slightly deeper, fuller gravy, use low-sodium beef broth instead of chicken broth. I like this option when I am serving the pork with mashed potatoes.
Watch the cook time: Pork sirloin roast is leaner than some other cuts, so try not to overcook it too far past tender. Check it at the earlier end of the cooking window if your slow cooker runs hot.
Easy meal prep: Leftover pork keeps well in the refrigerator for up to 3 days. Store it with some of the gravy so it stays moist, then reheat gently for sandwiches, rice bowls, or another quick dinner later in the week.
